要 旨

B cells play central roles in humoral immunity. Upon encountering their cognate antigens through their B cell receptors (BCRs), B cells take on multiple functions including antibody production and antigen-presentation. In the context of autoimmunity, B cells are widely accepted as pathogenic effectors, but evidence is accumulating that they also have an immunosuppressive aspect through anti-inflammatory cytokine production. Recent advances have pointed out the diverse influences of B cells on immune diseases, but gaining and integrating insights into the molecular and cellular regulation of B cells is challenging and vital. The presentation will describe our findings about the impact of B cells on immune disease and its underlying mechanisms, particularly Ca2+ signaling.
